We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

South AfricaThe sound proofing of the rooms as we could hear our neighbours coughing and they could hear us - we were all a bit sick in the winter weather.
The location was good as we had business to attend to. We liked the details, such as the friendliness and helpfulness of Cecelia and the staff; refilling supplies, a great shower, the cleanliness. We had everything we needed on top of feeling at home.

United StatesPeople were smoking constantly in the back of our room and smoke came into the bathroom window so we had to keep it closed. We also weren't crazy about the idea that the room next to ours were became a business so people coming and going through the day. Constant remodeling as well so lots of noise while we were there.
We liked the garden, braai area, water feature, and closeness to the beach. Tokkie (owner) and Cecelia (manager) were great. When we asked for something, we got it. Our room were cleaned every day, and also our laundry was done whenever we needed it. We parked inside the gate area so our car was always safe.

Our host (Celeste) is extraordinary! Gave good tips of what to do and get around. Also gave good tips of places to visit on our onward honeymoon. A bit outside from town center but we don’t mind walking and Uber works well and is cheap.
