There was nothing to dislike !

A wonderfully located & well appointed guesthouse house with large & very comfortable rooms. The gardens were lovely and the breakfast top notch! The owners were warm and very welcoming as were the staff ! We certainly would stay again when returning to South Africa

Constantia is a lovely area in itself and it is a 30 minute journey into Cape Town. We had a car and travelling was not a problem. The hotel has a lovely driver on hand if you don’t have a car

We had a lovely stay at the Devonport House! The hosts were lovely and took care of our requests. We arrived early and were able to leave our luggage while our room was being prepared, and when we came back late at night everything had been brought to our room. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast the next morning was also very nice. We loved the views from our room. Definitely would stay here again!

Cellular service was non-existent in the area, and wifi was more challenging than other towns we stayed in. Could not safely walk anywhere other than to the nearby winery.

Lovely hotel, we were the only guests so felt very quiet, almost too quiet considering the owners lived on site. Our room was really spacious, the best one in the house, great views. The owners were friendly, all the staff were very pleasant. The ladies serving us breakfast every morning were great (I waited too long to write this review so have forgotten their names, sorry!) and it was a very nice breakfast. They also provided cake and tea/coffee in the afternoon after we got back from hiking. The resident Peacock Louie was a great source of entertainment, showing up on the roof in the morning peeking in the bathroom window! Great hiking right up the road, you can walk through to Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden. Also great hiking 20 minutes drive away at Silvermyn trails. We enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful place to stay. Wonderful facilities. Enjoyed the use of the sitting room as well as the free sherry and delicious cake. Loved the personal touches. Lovely friendly owners! Attention to small details. Very efficient and kind staff. Would definitely stay at Devonport House again!

EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT AS EXPECTED.

Wonderful Carrot 🎂 on arrival. Breakfast exceptional with Cozy fire 🔥 place in the Lounge. It was so handy because of the cold 🥶 rainy 🌧 weather we had. We also had a nice 📸 photo shoot on the premises.

The location is absolute gem - right in the backyard of wineries! The owners went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. The room and whole property is skillfully decorated. Breakfast was fantastic.

Nothing really

Warm welcome from staff with complimentary cake, coffee and tea in the bar to enjoy in the bar, lounge or on the outside terrace. Honesty bar that is well stocked with drinks and snacks is a nice touch. Great location and wonderful views from the upstairs “Oak Room” that we selected . We Loved the electric blankets and Nespresso machine in the room.

Faultless.

This is a stunning property, stylishly and lovingly maintained by Jenny and Jacques, supported by a fabulous team of staff. The setting could not be better, with a farm gate leading directly into the Groot Constantia vineyard. There is a pool, super lounge with roaring fire for the winter and lovely touches like complimentary after-dinner liqueur available. There is tea and coffee making available in all the rooms and also in the bar, which served a beautiful freshly-baked cake in the afternoon for a communal tea. There appeared to be a well-stocked bar, though we didn't get the chance to use it as I had to cut my trip short sadly. My friends, who stayed on, took advantage of the house 'taxi service' and had a lift to a nearby restaurant from one of the members of staff, which was very convenient. My friend gets chilly easily and they arrived back from their dinner to find that Jenny had noticed this and put an electric blanket on to warm up her bed! Super service and attention to detail. Breakfast was delicious and served in a lovely sunny breakfast room.

An excellent location, a wonderful homely Guest house with Jacques and Jenny making you feel so welcome. It was spotless and very comfortable and our bedroom had spectacular views. Two great restaurants in Groot Constantia only a 5min walk through the vineyards and when you needed to go back Pinto the driver was there. We so enjoyed the tea and fresh cake in the afternoon, one felt totally spoilt. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 nights and were sad to leave.
