Missed a small container of milk for the coffee. For elderly guests, the lounge chairs an couch were very low and a bit difficult to negotiate. One or two more ice trays for the freezer.

A better heating system, could have made our stay more comfortable. It was an extremely cold night and the split system was not very effective. We were not sure whether the internal wood fireplace was useable.

Niles, our host contacted us prior to arrival with excellent direction instructions and key collection. We were also able to purchase grass fed, organic meat at a very reasonable price. This was an added bonus.

The weather was extremely cold and the place needed heaters for this weather. Would definitely visit again in summer to take advantage of the pool

Maintenance: difficult front door : needs sanding. Also one of bedroom doors scraping against tiles: One of the cutlery drawers needed cleaning.

We loved the setting and all the attention to detail. A private pool and fire pit all added up to make our stay fantastic. We loved the long deep veranda and enjoyed the sunset sunrise and full moon and loads of stars. We will certainly stay for longer next time.

we got the day before arrival all the info including the Wifi password, Once arrived we unpacked everything and then started to set up the wifi which didn't work, we contacted the host and they did had trouble with this cottage. As we did required wifi they did offer us another cottage: but it was a bit annoying as we already unpacked everything and had to pack and unpack again after a long day on the road. It would have been nice, to get the notice that the wifi is not working and we could get another cottage - as we booked the larger more expensive cottage with full fridge - we ended up with the smaller cottage which was nice, but only had a freezer compartment .

you are staying on a farm, maybe 10 Min outside of town along a gravel road. It is easy to find and to get there. we did like that it is super peaceful and you have the feeling you are in the middle of a country side. the cottages have some nice personal touch and feel very comfortable. we would stay here again, as it is very nice.

Ironstone Cottage (Graaff Reinet - Valley of Desolation) This fine cottage was located on a farm some distance outside GR. Spacious, comfortable and well equipped, a plunge pool, hammock and a fine garden. Meals are available from the host. Hiking in the vicinity and hunting tours are available. Road access challenging for a conventional vehicle with low ground clearance.

The most amazing place, very roomy and all the amenities you might need, good AC since it might get very hot, and beautiful and private spots to chill in the shade. Owners are amazing people and loved to help us find a nice hiking route on the farm.

Double bed was really not comfortable.

Fantastic setting. Hidden away and surrounded by hills with beautiful views. Loved the stoep and pool. Would want to spend a week at this place. Will definitely come back.
