We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

South AfricaThe room said it had a bathtub online, but it actually only has a shower. Otherwise everything was good.
Right around the corner from Nelson Mandela University, perfect if you are attending a conference there. I had a lovely swim in the pool. The well-travelled owner entertained us with stories of his adventures.

La Maison on 37 Admiralty Way is a good and hospitable lodging facility, way above other establishments of similar classification. The host, Bobby, is friendly and helpful and makes the whole experience worthwhile with complementary meals. The place was under some refurbishment on one part at the time of my visit, but they ensured this did not cause any inconvenience. The Place is close to the beach, shopping Mallsand within 2 km of Nelson Mandela University. I will certainly return!

South AfricaI have nothing I did not like about the place. Everything was beyond my expectation.
I really enjoyed the place; the staff and owners were there to welcome us and was ready to assist with everything. I really appreciate the fact that the owner was friendly and gave me advice on a lot of things. I walked away with a pinch of history about the place I was staying in and how it came into existence. Such places have the power of taking you to a place you have never been to.

South AfricaThe property was still under renovation which we were not aware odd had we had been aware we would’ve never booked. When we got there the house was absolutely untidy and it had a very bad smell. There were full ants when I spoke to the owner he had told me since it’s hot there will be ants but did nothing about it. I complained again about the ants thereafter his staff sprayed the ants but left the dead ants on the floor. We had gone for dinner and came back when we entered there were cockroaches in the room. We had only booked for the night but did not stay the night we had left the place and booked at another place late at night. Very disappointing.
