Near beautiful mountains, nice and secluded but with all important comfort. Lovely clean bedding, towels, comfortable, WiFi and lovely hikes. Robert the manager made us very welcome.

Nothing per se. Except for the cold in the evening and morning. However, there are extra blankets and a gas heater.

In a serene place, under the mountain. We had the whole place for ourselves. We barely saw other guests.

Path wasn't too clear on the Eastern wall hike, where the path returns to the accommodation. Got a bit lost when descending the large rocks, but luckily found the path again after some time.

Mafube is located in one of the most beautiful areas of the country. Tucked away in the mountains, Mafube has so much to offer for everybody. Hillary was an exceptional host, checking in that we were comfortable and providing us with some great suggestions. There is so much to explore in the Fouriesburg area!

Nothing. The access road is a bumpy country road but in fine condition. It requires a vehicle with some minimal clearance but we drove a tiny rental (Toyota Vitz) and it was more than adequate.

What a gem! This place is an absolute delight to stay in and explore. Amazing hikes on the property, very beautiful surroundings and lots of additional facilities such as trampoline, pool, ping-pong table etc. We stayed in the rondawel which has nice views and is very spacious. Hillary was an amazing host - very accommodating e.g. with our early check-in - and Robert sorted out our practical stuff amazingly. What an amazing surprise.

The location is spectacular, the accommodation was comfortable and more than enough of everything to spend a wonderful weekend self catering without struggling to prep meals etc.

Everything about the place was just beyond my expectations........ For those looking for a holiday stay in the Fourisburg region........ I tell you this is the place to be at....

As one who has been to different places in and outside South Africa, the owner of this retreat was beyond what hospitable is... she went beyond her call of duty to make sure that we are comfortable and safe during our stay. Not only that, she kept a line of communication with us throughout our stay only to ensure that we reach her easily in case of emergency or need. How I wish all owners of hospitality establishments could emulate her excellent approach to guests...... big-ups to her....

I believe there might been a room bordering the unit i stayed, from which I could hear pretty much every movement of the person watching videos and opening and closing doors. This wasn't terrible, but woke me up in the early morning while I was trying to sleep in.

The hosts came and greeted me personally. I even received a WhatsApp the morning of arrival to confirm my stay and give through the necessary information. They have hiking trails that I really wanted to take, but the weather did not permit it.

If I may give one less good comment, it was the kitchen. In this woinderfull rondavel there was a kitchen that needed a renewal.Also the kitchen ware was needed to renewal. And we have seen it was possible, because in the 6 sleeper house that also was rented , there was a fantastic kitchen as we could see from the ouside. So suppose the kitchen of the rondavel will we changed soon the the standards of all the rest.

The owners were very friendly and helpfull. The rondavel was a super nice. Very beautifull made. The best and most clean swimming pool we had this holiday. Super marked and well maintained hiking trails on the farm.

The place is beautiful. Chalet is very comfortable and clean with everything you need. The hosts are great, making sure that the guests are comfortable. Nice breakaway. We enjoyed all the walking trails. Can highly recommend it.

Very clean, nice and compact with everything one needs. Also offered a gas as well as an electric heater which was great as we went during winter. Host is lovely and comes by to check on you when around. Also great value for money.

Only negative is the hot water pressure is not strong enough to take a decent shower.

What a wonderful experience it was staying at Mafube Mountain retreat, surrounded by the beauty of nature and mountain tops. Located just outside of Fouriesburg, this gem offers peace and quite for a relaxing get away.
