When I arrived, I knew instantly that I chose well. I wanted an authentic South African experience, quiet and serenity for a restful stay, and fun, and got more than I bargained for. The place is as beautiful as it is displayed in the photos. Everything in the spacious house is top quality and well thought out- kitchen appliances, bathroom, very comfortable bed. Sidney and his wife, Anne are very pleasant and will give you your privacy yet always ensure that you have all you need. It was great to watch the friendly dogs play by the beautiful lakeside and Casper the white swan being naughty :). You can relax by the lake as you read your book, enjoy the electric massage chair, or just enjoy the view, plus, Sidney has a private Island that I wish I'd had enough time to explore. I enjoyed being captain of a great motorboat ride under Sidney's guidance at an affordable fee and the drive through the "non tourist-y" parts of capetown. The neighbourhood is manned by security and you can ride a bike or take a stroll within this area and enjoy the beautiful views along the Peninsula.I didnt stay long enough to explore the place fully, and will be back for sure. Ps, Storm and Hunter (Sidney's grandchildren) who came for the weekend made the experience even more warm; very friendly kids! Thanks Sidney!

Unforgettable Stay at Nature’s Rest – More Than Just a Hotel! I had the pleasure of staying at Nature’s Rest in Cape Town for seven days, and I must say—it was an exceptional experience! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded expectations. The hotel itself is fantastic, offering a comfortable and relaxing ambiance. The kitchen was absolutely superb, catering to all our needs. However, what truly made this stay special was Sydny, the owner. He is not only a lovely and helpful person but also went out of his way to ensure we had a great time. One of the highlights of our trip was learning to kayak from Sydny. His patience, guidance, and expert tips made the experience even more enjoyable. He also shared valuable insights on riding boats, which added to our adventure. Honestly, a five-star rating doesn’t do justice to the level of hospitality and excitement we experienced. If you’re visiting Cape Town, I highly recommend staying at Nature’s Rest for an unforgettable time! Would definitely love to return!

everything is perfect

The place has everything you would need from salt to teabags to milk pots pans iron , EVERYTHING. It is on a beautiful lake and the owner allowed us to use the paddle boat and other facilities at no extra cost. The owner is an exceptional , friendly , welcoming host and is always making sure all is comfortable. The bed is so comfy you dont want to wake up, Location is central to everything. Thank you for a lovely stay Sidney and hope to see you again soon, will definately be back to use the upcoming Jacuuzi :)

A super one bedroom apartment, with everything you would need. Very clean and well appointed with lovely touches. A beautiful location on the lake, with the use of a rowing boat and canoes. Sidney the host was fantastic, even taking us shopping and swimming at a local pool. Felt very safe.

We could use a canoe and a catamaran sailboat for free. The host, Sidney is so friendly and forthcoming. You can ask him anything. We loved the company of the dogs and and the goose on the estate.

Everything about this place was exceptional. The hosts were extremely welcoming and very courteous. The accommodation could not be faulted at all. The activities provided were spectacular, the room was fantastic and made me feel right at home. the level of excellence at the home and venue as a whole is top tier and second to none. Natures Rest is definitely the place to book and i’m sorry i didn’t book a longer stay. I’ll definitely be returning soon! Thank you Sidney for and co for an amazing, unforgettable experience

The peace, The views , The lake ❤️ Such a friendly host.I felt like I was visiting family.So welcoming. We were welcomed earlier than our check in time. there was literally everything you can ever possibly need , Extra blankets,Gowns, all the works, Appliances .Basic food stuff. Beautiful unit, well appointed with all necessary equipment. Nice touch to supply fruit and yoghurt for your 1st morning breakfast. I would have loved to do the boat cruise on the vlei, but time did not permit it. Owner and host, Sidney was very accommodating. I had to leave 04H00 on my departure day and he was available to receive the keys and bid me farewell.

The host was very accommodating, we could only check in late evening at 11pm and they were more than happy to assist us at that hour. We had a beautiful customised welcome message. The place had every essential amenities you could think of. The entire stay and location was top tier quality with regards to peace and tranquility - which is exactly what we were looking for. The environment is very safe and there's security patrolling in the area constantly. We look forward to coming back again.

Some may feel the neighbourhood you drive through to reach the property may feel unsafe but we had no problems

Great place to stay for our last couple of nights in CT. Lucky to have a totally different experience staying on the lake. Sidney, the hosts has such a huge heart and loves to share his home with you. He took us out on the beautiful lake on his kayaks for a couple of hours, such a wonderful experience.Space is completely private if you prefer.
