I highly recommend this accommodation. The place is full of authenticity, history, and character. Colin, our host, was truly exceptional : attentive, welcoming, and always ready with great advice. Every detail is thoughtfully taken care of, which is so rare and much appreciated. Our suite was very comfortable, with direct access to the pool, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Our stay was perfect, and the quality of service far exceeded that of many other places we’ve stayed in South Africa and beyond. Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality!

St. Lucia Wetlands Guest House was truly an unforgettable stay for us. We travel regularly, but have never experienced such personal and outstanding service. Colin is an incredibly attentive and helpful host who thought of every detail of our stay – always with a touch of humor. Everything was just perfect: a delicious breakfast, a comfortable bed, a peaceful green setting, and every amenity you could possibly wish for. Baie dankie vir alles, Colin & team!

I've been in few countries around the world: from East to West Africa, Europe and U.S and South America - and I've never seen a host with this much hospitality. Colin made our stay one to remember. From giving us tips about St Lucia, to making sure we felt at home. The place has a lovely garden, filled with native/exotic plants and trees. If you want to relax and travel through time - this is the place to go. Loved the vintage decor, with board games and everything. Definitely will be coming back

This place is a little slice of paradise, the kind of place you dream about returning to as soon as you leave. In fact, our family group of 12 voted St Lucia the place we'd most likely to return to on our 2-week trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe. Let's begin with the setting in a lush tropical garden. Our spacious, comfortable room was embraced by greenery so that we felt protected, comforted and refreshed. A few steps up the driveway was the reception in a gorgeous, expansive living room with a floor to ceiling pizza oven style fireplace and comfortable seating, adjacent to the covered outdoor terrace where we were served our copious, delicious breakfast. Speaking of which, the breakfast was divine. In addition to an extensive buffet of cold items, they also prepare a hot breakfast to order for you. I'm sorry I can't list all the items available because I'm a gluten-free vegan, but I can say that they went to great lengths to accommodate my diet. I had almond milk and gluten-free toast, and they even made some blueberry oatmeal bars just for me. Wow! And, of course, what really makes this place special is the owner, Colin. He says not to believe everything you read, but the glowing reviews about him are true. He greeted us when we arrived, showed us to our rooms, and then met us at the bar to offer us a welcome drink, and tell us about St Lucia and answer any questions we had. He waited up every night to greet us when we returned from dinner before he retired for the evening. He truly loves running a guest house! No detail is too small for him to attend to. We forgot to bring up our bag of laundry one evening before our 5 a.m. departure for a game drive the next morning. He said he would fetch it from our room the next day and get it washed. I needn't have worried that he might have forgotten because we returned to find our laundry clean and folded on our bed.

We loved everything! There is nothing not to like in paradise.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Colin is a great host, very caring and informative. Amazing breakfast! Dusty cars are cleaned every morning. A perfect stay!

The guesthouse offered excellent service from start to finish. The host, Colin, was incredibly attentive and went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed. The rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. Breakfast was a real highlight—delicious and beautifully prepared. Highly recommend.

This was the most amazing stay we had on the 28 days we were in South Africa. Colin is a fantastically hospitable host. Nothing was too much for him. Moreover, it is very nice that we could talk to him in Dutch and he in Afrikaans. The kids loved him too! Together they watched the “geitjie” (gecko) on the walls. If we come back to South Africa we will stay at the Wetlands Guest House again no matter what.

Collin and the St. Lucia Wetlands Guest House staff are on another level. Please do yourself a favor and book in! The location, the property, the garden and the breakfast far exceed expectations and anything else we have visited. Thank you again for a great stay! 10/10 see you again.
