Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe room lacked a table and two compfy chairs, a mosquito net over the bed and/or the windows as my partner got stung twice at night, and it did get quite damp in the room after showering as there is no barrier/wall between the bathroom and the bedroom. The coffee station in the dining room is a little sub-par as there are only instant coffee sachets and old-smelling tea bags available. It is a little irritating as the staff use walkie-talkies to communicate, and the sound echoes loudly in the tiled halls The villa is a little chilly in winter so pack some warm things.
The staff were very welcoming with a glass of juice to greet you. The room was spacious and the bathroom was modern. The best part was the pool table in the common room! Breakfast included a delicious fruit salad and continental egg and toast options. A mini-fridge in the bar area is available for use as the rooms don't have fridges yet. The bed was comfortable, the room had a balcony with a great view on the 'jungle,' and the toilet was separate. When we had 2 issues with the room, the hot water wasn't working and some ants, they were taken care of within half-an-hour, which was great!! A few minutes drive from the villa is a wonderful restaurant with amazing food, The Packshed!! And 15min away is the beach in Margate.

South AfricaHousekeeping was not daily, which can be an issue when traveling with kids. The staff disappears at night, and you're on your own till breakfast, which can feel creepy if you're not used to living in a huge house.
It's a beautiful, quiet location with a restaurant within the estate. We were fortunate enough to be there on the last Friday of the month when they have a night market on the estate and we had some nice food and live entertainment. The pool was always clean despite being surrounded by trees.

South AfricaThis hotel seems fairly new and I think they need a few tweaks. They don’t have bar fridges in the rooms which makes storing your stuff a nightmare e.g if you had left over food from a restaurant outing that you wanted to eat later…etc. It would be nice if you can also have a coffee/tea station in the bedrooms. The breakfast offering could use some improving with alittle more variety
It’s a beautiful older building that was renovated. The bedrooms are very pretty 😍

South AfricaThe only thing I would recommend is a kettle and bar fridge in the room. No aircon, but ceiling fans were effective.
We celebrated our anniversary, so it was perfect and peaceful. Lovely breakfast included. We stayed in a suite, which was spacious and beautiful.

I booked for my family as the facility is in my estate, very convenient. They loved everything about it. They mentioned comfy beds & duvets, breakfast, staff, the quietness at night, my sister even said that it felt like there was a no noise sign outside for everything to keep quiet & still for a beautiful night. Very serene. They also loved the lounge area by the pool.

South AfricaWe had an absolutely amazing time staying at Villa Colinas! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home. When we arrived we got a welcome drink, what a great start! The room was spacious, clean, and perfect for our family. We loved the cozy atmosphere and all the extra touches. The location of Villa Colinas was ideal, with plenty of nearby attractions for both adults and children to enjoy. The pool and entertainment area was a big hit with our kids, and the on-site restaurant had a great variety of family-friendly meals. There is also a great jungle gym. The kids were even able to prepare their own dessert together with the chefs in the kitchen, what a lovely surprise! What really stood out to us was the exceptional customer service. Every request was met with a smile, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. We appreciated the thoughtful recommendations for family activities and the attention to detail throughout our stay. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend Villa Colinas to anyone looking for a family-friendly vacation spot. We’re already looking forward to our next visit! Next time we will stay much longer...

South AfricaLovely, Unexpected Bed and Breakfast in Serene Nature We had the pleasure of staying at Villa Colinas in Serenity Hills, Mar gate, and were truly impressed by this hidden gem. Nestled in absolutely serene nature, the peaceful surroundings are a rare find these days. Walking trails lead directly from the accommodation into the indigenous bush, offering a tranquil escape, yet the estate remains very safe within an electrically fenced property with secure access. Villa Colinas, an old farmhouse beautifully renovated into a unique bed and breakfast, exudes charm and warmth. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the spacious entrance and a genuinely inviting atmosphere. The friendly and attentive staff made our stay feel special. With just four en-suite rooms, the intimate setting is complemented by a lovely garden, a spacious verandah, and a sparkling clear pool. The entertainment room features a pool table, a huge TV with all channels you could wish for, darts, and a cozy snack and soft drink corner. Sitting outside in the late afternoon or evening, soaking in the peaceful ambiance with a drink in hand, was a true highlight after a day of exploring. The hospitality was outstanding, with attention to every detail. The central coffee station in the tastefully decorated breakfast room/lounge was a thoughtful touch. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a choice of eggs and a generous buffet featuring fresh fruit, a selection of muesli, cheese, sliced ham and chicken, and more—each item presented with care. Our twin room was comfortably converted into a queen-size bed and offered a beautiful garden view. Villa Colinas also offers a deluxe balcony room and a spacious family suite on the upper level. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for making our stay a memorable one. We will definitely be back for a longer visit!

South AfricaRoom had a fan but not effective at all, served no purpose, caused discomfort due to heat. Had to open windows and had bugs come in. No mini bar fridge or Tea station in the room, could not warm food. This was just a sleeping facility which was not expected. The site does not clearly state anywhere that it is not self catering. Cooked breakfast was okay, could have had more options. Continental breakfast very poor.
Friendly staff, serenity at night.

South AfricaThis isn't even a dislike, everything was so amazing. The only small thing I'd mention is maybe an L shaped couch to accommodate all 8 guests as the seating only comfortably accommodates 6. Other wise everything was amazing!
Literally everything, the attention to detail was on point. The host Thandeka was lovely and helpful when needed. The place itself was beautiful and well appointed. Julie was also a star, and helped make our wedding the best ever. I cannot rate this place higher, I wish I could. The pool table, chess, dart board and swimming pool were lovely, I wish I had more time to enjoy it all but as I was getting married we had other things on our minds. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. My bridesmaids, their partners and my husband and I had the very best time!!! There are not enough words in the world to describe my happiness.
