GermanyThe Hotel Kundalini exceeded my expectations in so many ways. I am a solo female traveler who was in Montañita to visit my American father who lives there and I was just so pleased with my decision to stay here for the whole 10 days (with two separate reservations). The grounds are breathtaking; being right on the beach surrounded by lush plants and flowers was so relaxing. The room was impeccably clean, the shower hot and with good pressure, and the bed was so so comfortable - pillows too! The sauna was a fabulous amenity to be able to enjoy - I did twice! I also booked a massage through them and the gentleman who was my therapist was professional, had the right amount of pressure and made me feel like I was walking on clouds for the rest of the day. My favorite part of this stay might have been the breakfast though! It was ample, varied and delicious - and showcased local recipes and ingredients. I tried all of the 6 that they offer, and when I arrived at my favorites they even let me substitute ham for avocado (I prefer to eat vegetarian in most cases). The fruit medley was ripe, varied and a lovely way to start each meal. The coffee and hot milk is free flowing and the juices change every day. Sitting there, every morning, enjoying breakfast and watching the waves of the Pacific ocean crash onto the long long beach while reading a book was simply paradise. Last, but definitely not least, the staff was so so nice and accommodating. They helped me with so many things (like lending me a yoga mat or calling me taxis daily), were very friendly and so willing to modify things to make me happy. I really do expect to stay with them whenever I visit my Dad and I recommend that you do too if you are weighing your options for where to stay in Montañita. Hotel Kundalini is a tranquil little oasis in the middle of a bustling and high energy town, and you won't regret calling it home for a little while.
