All units include a satellite flat-screen TV and a terrace. The kitchen comes with a dishwasher and oven. A microwave and coffee machine are also featured. Each unit has a private bathroom with a shower. We stayed 2 nights and absolutely loved it. The cabin was very clean, spacious, and well-equipped, with a stunning view of the fjord and mountains. The facilities were spotless and everything felt fresh and well cared for.

Overlooking the Hardanger Fjord, this traditional hotel offers a sports bar, a summer restaurant and rooms with free WiFi access and a TV. It is located in Eidfjord village, 7.5 km from Hardangervidda Nature Centre. We had a lovely stay at this hotel! The absolute highlight was the breathtaking view of the fjord from our window—truly unforgettable and worth the trip in itself. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, and the staff were consistently friendly and attentive. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, offering a great variety beyond the traditional options. Alongside eggs, sausages, and beans, they even served IKEA-style meatballs, which added a fun and unexpected touch. The surrounding area is gorgeous, and we highly recommend exploring the nearby hiking trails—it was well worth the effort. Overall, a fantastic experience that we’d happily repeat!

With an idyllic location by the Hardangerfjord, this elegant hotel features traditional décor, a waterfront garden and free Wi-Fi. The impressive Steinsdalsfossen Waterfall is a 5-minute drive away.

Housed in a listed building from 1857, Thon Hotel Sandven’s individually decorated rooms have a private bathroom with shower. Some offer fjord views and a balcony. The breakfast was the largest and best free breakfast we have ever had at a hotel! The historic side of the hotel was fantastic for a coffee/tea break and meals. We had a very large (two-bedroom) suite in the newer wing of the hotel. It included a kitchen where we baked a supermarket pizza one evening. The balcony had a beautiful view looking down the fjord.

Situated in a late 19th century Art Noveau-style building overlooking the Måbø Valley, Fossli Hotel offers free Wi-Fi and rooms with private bathrooms. Vøringsfossen Waterfall is next to the hotel.

The hotel’s mountain-top location provides guests with stunning views of Vøringsfossen. A souvenir shop is available on-site. Guests can also relax with a book from the hotel library. Amazing location!!! Surrounded by waterfalls and loads of hiking trails. Of my two weeks touring Norway, this was in the top 3 best places I stayed. Beautiful interior has an elegant vibe and highlights the history behind this old hotel. Dinner was sublime (grilled reindeer with baked pear) and staff was very friendly. You can’t beat the incredible view and plethora of hiking options at your doorstep.

Facing the beachfront, Kinsarvik Fjordhotel, BW Signature Collection offers 3-star accommodation in Kinsarvik and features a garden, shared lounge and terrace. Featuring a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a water park. Certain units at the property include a balcony with a sea view. The small town of Kinsarvik gave me the most surprises during this trip to Norway! 1) It is slightly farther from Trolltunga than Odda, but its rooms are easier to book and the prices are more reasonable. 2) The scenery of the town is very beautiful. 3) The elderly gentleman at the front desk who received me was very kind, warm and thoughtful. Knowing we were going to Trolltunga, he even checked the weather for us and asked if we needed to prepare breakfast. When he saw us return from Trolltunga, he told me to take a good rest right away. I am very grateful to him.
