Set in tranquil surroundings with large landscaped grounds and a picturesque garden terrace with mountain views, Tongariro Crossing Lodge offers uniquely spacious rooms with historic character. Staff were very friendly and full of advice on weather, shuttles, etc for the Tongariro Crossing walk, before and during our visit. The packed lunch provided for the walk really was top quality and more than enough !! Room was very clean and comfortable, while bars/eateries are only a short walk away.

Located just 2.5 km from the Palmerston North city centre, the Aspree Motor Inn is a 10-minute drive from Palmerston North Airport. It offers free Wi-Fi, a restaurant and free parking on site. The room was large and spacious with all the amenities and good variety of teas and coffees. We were greeted by friendly staff and offered some adorable milk bottles for our stay. The kitchen was well equipped.

Plateau Lodge is located 15 minutes’ drive from UNESCO World Heritage listed Tongariro National Park, where guests can enjoy skiing, hiking, cycling and paddling activities. Comfortable and welcoming place, I felt at home and would love to go back there again.
