The ryokan features family rooms and facilities for disabled guests. the owner is a quite person but very kind and considerate. she was one of very few accommodation-owners who speak english. 1. specially she took care of our electrical bicycles which need battery charging. she made an indoor space in a different house which is perfect. 2. also the kitchen which is well devised and like home kitchen was very nice to use. 3. the room we stayed has so nice mountain view, which was tranquil. 4. during our stay, it was heavy rain and we, bike traveller, probably made the space dusty. but she understood the situation and was generous to provide more towels to wipe water on body. 5. we vediotaped the house because her retro-renovation of the old farm house(actually looks old shop house in a farming village) was very intriguing and informative. (very japanese as well as very moderate and inexpensive)

Wakariki Ryokan enjoys a location in Yanagawa, just 20 km from Yoshinogari Historical Park and 32 km from Hirayama Hot Spring. The ryokan features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Excellent small ryokan next to one of the punting stations. Room was huge and had a view to garden and canal. Excellent dinner and breakfast. We noted that Yanagawa could have been a better place to visit Yoshinogari and Dazaifu than our next stay in Fukuoka - Yanagawa has excellent fast direct train to Dazaifu. Next time would stay more than 1 night in this Ryokan

On two floors with very comfortable beds, bed linen, a beautiful wooden bath, a large tatami matted space to sit, be and eat breakfast. The indigo wall hangings were a delight to have in the space and we booked an incredible workshop held by the artist who created the hanging to learn the process of indigo dyeing. This was very special. The staff were very welcoming, generous and exceptionally helpful with directions, booking activities and dinner reservations. They went above and beyond.

The room was very clean and nicely appointed. I had the dinner and it was delicious with beautiful presentation.The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
