Clean and big room - very traditional old Japanese style Ryokan; exactly what we have been looking for. Great location too. The staff was fantastic, providing us with tips for the neighbourhood and some interesting Japanese coffee jelly. There is free coffee, tea and water as well at all times. Be sure to reserve breakfast at least a day in advance. We missed it and unfortunately could not get a taste of it (though it looked fantastic).

At the ryokan, all rooms include a flat-screen TV, fridge and wardrobe. Certain rooms feature in-room hot spring bath, while some rooms offer a kitchen with a microwave. The room was exactly as it was described. Amazing amazing amazing staff they were extremely kind and helpful. Private onsen were available 24/7 with no time limit per use. Excellent place to stay in Kusatsu and I will definitely come back again to this facility

Opened in April 2017, Hakone Kowakien Tenyu offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami flooring, an open-air bath or ceramic open-air hot springs bath made with Shigaraki pottery. The property boasts views of Tonomine, Myojogatake and Mount Asama. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Was relaxing and the staff was wonderful

Air-conditioned rooms feature a tatami (woven-straw) floor, on which traditional futon bedding is spread to sleep in. Amenities include an LCD TV, fridge, a safe and yukata robes. All rooms have a private toilet and washbasin, while bathroom facilities are shared. Green tea sets with snacks are provided. Onsen was great, and the room was very large. Lovely experience, and something different than the usual hotel you stay in when on holidays.

A fridge and an electric kettle with green tea bags are included in each room. All rooms come with an en suite bathroom with a toilet and shower, while some rooms have a bathtub. Excellent stay at the hotel, room was great, they let us drop our luggage before having the room as well as after check out. Great staff, very helpful

The en suite bathroom comes with toiletries and a bathtub. Everything was perfect. The view, the open air bath tub with river and hill view, the Japanese style room.

Main Dining Room "The Fujiya" serves French cuisine in an elegant space. Restaurant Cascade offers Western dishes, while Kikka-so serves traditional Japanese kaiseki dinners. A bar, lounge and bakery are available. Everything about it. Helpful staff and beautiful hotel with excellent facilities.

The ryokan staff were very friendly and willing to help! The room was nice and well arranged.
