Hoshidekan Ryokan (een lid van de Japanse Inn Group) ligt op 500 meter van het treinstation Kintetsu Iseshi en is gevestigd in een houten gebouw uit de jaren 1920. Unique Ryokan style with old typical house style and tatamis rooms, with beautiful inner garden. I highly recommend this place for a unique experience in Japan. Enjoy the peaceful environment during your stay here! There is also a library with some mangas available for reading. Very friendly staff as well!

Kii no Matsushima ligt in Kihokucho, op 48 km van Ubuta Shrine, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren en een terras. We had a great stay at Kii no Matsushima. The host was incredibly welcoming and the food was amazing. We arrived after dark in the town from our hiking trip and she waited for us in the car along the path to pick us up. Next day she even prepared a small lunch for us to take on our hike. Highly recommended!

Tabist Miya Yokkaichi Suizawa ligt in Suizawa, op 22 km van Suzuka Circuit, en biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. Nagashima Spa Land ligt op 34 km van de ryokan. I was expecting ordinary cheap accommodation, but I got a pleasant stay in an old Japanese house. Bathroom and toilet outside the room, but extremely clean and comfortable. You can have breakfast or dinner in the bistro next door. There are tea plantations around, a beautiful environment. In the category of "cheap accommodation", it is absolutely exceptional.

Owase Seaside View ligt in Owase, op 20 km van Ubuta Shrine, en biedt accommodatie met gratis fietsen, gratis privéparkeren en een terras. The staff were very helpful in every possible way. The food and accommodation were excellent.

Ise-Shima Ohtaya Healing Stay bevindt zich in Toba, op 8 minuten lopen van Chidorigahama Beach en 29 km van Ise Jingū-schrijn, en biedt accommodatie met een restaurant, gratis WiFi en gratis... I really like this place. The female owner has an inquisitive mind, a warm personality, and a kind heart. Her English is good enough to communicate and ask for help. The sauna and the private onsen in the room are top-notch. I did not check the public onsen with natural hot spring, but heard it's amazing too. I booked the 5th floor with an ocean view, and the private onsen experience during starry night and the set rise were indeed amazing! The hotel itself is located in a remote little cute fish town called osatsucho, where you can find fishmen and women harvesting and selling the Ise lobsters in the morning by the port. It was a very unique and interesting experience to stay in that little town for two days during the winter when it was not crowded at all. The nearest convenience store is 10 + miles away. It was a very natural, grounding, even retreat-like experience to me, and it was drastically different from my experience in Tokyo, Nayoga, or Osaka. I did spot a few demolished houses with broken windows in the town, not sure if it's because of COVID or during the winter when there were fewer tourists. The big plus is the Shinmei shrine next door to the hotel, which is a very calming and spiritual place to visit and stay for a bit too.

Hanashinsui ligt in Toba, op 5 minuten lopen van Shirahama Beach, en biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. The hotel is beautiful, comfortable and clean. The food is luxurious, delicious and the quantity can stun the biggest eaters. But most of all, the hospitality of the staff is over the roof, absolutely exceptional service and kindness, words can't express how much we have been taken care of. Really grateful for all the kindness.
