Location was great and they had all the facilities you’d need, including onsite ski rental. Featuring 10 uniquely designed hot spring baths, Shosenkaku Kagetsu provides Japanese-style accommodation just a 5-minute walk from JR Echigo Yuzawa Train Station. It provides massage service and free Wi-Fi in public areas. Staff and services are top notch! I was one of the best stays in Japan so far. The structure is relatively simple, but the service is so good that we felt very welcomed after our skiing trip.

Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Amazing host, Mieko-san made the stay feel so special with her warmth, helpful demeanor and cheery greetings. Location was great for Akakura Onsen runs, food restaurants were nearby. Breakfast eggs and pancakes were standout items. Room was big and comfortable.

The ryokan features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. The meals were fantastic and staff very accommodating. We do not speak Japanese and the staff was kind and helpful, sometimes using Google translate to help communicate. Everything was excellent.

Offering mountain views, Sasakura onsen Ryuunso in Itoigawa provides accommodation and an open-air bath. A hot spring bath is available for guests, along with a public bath. The ryokan also offers free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. It was a lovely stay, place is well maintained although built in the 80s or 90s so furnishing represents that era. Onsen was lovely with different options and the water temperature was quite hot. Its an elaborate traditional japanese breakfast spread with lots of tasty dishes. I would recommend the place and you feel very relaxed after the onsen and they provide lots of little snacks and ice-cream which was a bonus with the kids. It is quite off the main road and the onsen itself is the destination.

Great onsen facilities. Has a besutiful traditional feel and located in a pristine, untouched nature. Private open air onsen has great views over the valley. So far, best hotel I have ever been in Japan. I highly recommend here to anyone wishing to experience such a great Ryokan. Thank you everyone for making my stay so wonderful.

The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. breakfast was excellent, it didn't seem much at first but once you started, the flavor of the different vegetables accompanied by the selected rice was incredible. Also loved the sake pairing of our French dinner.
