We stayed there for two nights, and it was one of the best hotels we have been to in our life. The hotel is located approximately 20 minutes walk from the Ogotoonsen Train station. However, the hotel provides free shuttle bus service from and to the train station. Just inform them beforehand. The hotel itself is beautiful inside. But the most wonderful are the people working there - everyone, be it check-in staff, kitchen staff or service staff - went above and beyond to provide fantastic, friendly service and comfortable stay for their guests. They readily answered our inquiries and were very kind. For example, they brought us to the Sakamoto the day after our arrival so that we could take the Sakamoto Cable Car to explore the Mount Hie. We booked the Junior Suite with Open-Air Hot Spring Bath. The room is large and gorgeous, with a separate bedroom and living room. The semi-open hot spring bath had a lovely view of Lake Biwa and starry heaven at night. It is also a very quiet location, so the feeling was truly magical while bathing at night. All necessary amenities are provided: Toothbrushes, hair and body products, several yukatas in our size and great tea and coffee. Our room booking also included dining in a private room with a several-course menu. This brings us to the next point: The food. The chef and the other kitchen staff are true artists. The unique kaiseki style meals, be it breakfast or dinner, were always presented elegantly. The fresh and generous meals represented the very best of the best of Japanese Omi region cuisine and were absolutely delicious. Many compliments to the staff! Biwako Ryokusuitei offers Japanese-style/Western rooms with Lake Biwako views, a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. Dinner was amazing and the staff and service was so attentive. Anzono our waiter for our dinner service went above and beyond. When one of us had to leave dinner before dessert to make their massage appointment, he offered and prepared a plate of the full dessert on a tray to be taken to the room for enjoyment afterwards.

Yumotokan se nachází na ideálním místě ve čtvrti Ogoto Onsen v destinaci Ocu. Chrám Enrjakudži se nachází 16 km daleko, Hora Hiei 17 km a Chrám Shōren-in 19 km. What’s not to like… we had the best room in the ryokan, super spacious room, had a huge bathroom, shower and a private open air onsen. We had a living room and a bedroom, the space we had was probably bigger than our apartment back home! Dinner and breakfast was beautifully presented, I literally was so relaxed I lost myself there. Wish I booked it for more than one night!

Marumo Ryokan se nachází v destinaci Takashima v regionu Shiga. Jen 46 km odtud je Chrám Sanzenin. The food was incredible and the service was amazing. I really enjoyed this place.

Dantokan Kikunoya se nachází 5 minut jízdy od stanice JR Ogoto Onsen a nabízí termální koupel. Na vyžádání je k dispozici bezplatná doprava ze stanice. The staff here are incredible. They went above and beyond to help us celebrate our honeymoon. I was so grateful for how hard they all worked and how kind they all were. We also got the breakfast service in our room, which was excellent, and they provided several drinks in the fridge for us for free. They shuttled us from the station and back to it, and we were even sent off by the staff at the end of our stay. So friendly and welcoming. Also, our deluxe suite had the private open air bath, and I can't recommend that enough. It was so relaxing and incredible. Lastly, I personally loved the toiletries and additional things that came with the room (shampoo, straightener, beverages, yukata, pajamas, etc.)

長浜城下 町屋ホテル 和乃リトリートひといき se nachází v destinaci Nagahama a nabízí ubytování s zahradou, neplaceným soukromým parkovištěm, terasou a barem. Hrad Hikone je 14 km daleko. Our room was wonderful. The amenities were thoughtful and high quality. The host was extremely friendly and treated us to a tour of beautiful Nagahama.

KAMENOI HOTEL Hikone poskytuje pokoje v destinaci Hikone. Jen 2,7 km odtud se nachází Hrad Hikone a Vlakové nádraží Maibara je 6 km daleko. Amazing food, pleasant staff and great onsen. Frequent shuttles to and from train station was a plus.

Honmachi Juku se nachází v destinaci Hikone a poskytuje ubytování s zahradou, neplaceným soukromým parkovištěm a sdíleným loungem. Hrad Hikone je 900 metrů daleko. The homemade Japanese breakfasts were phenomenal and a very good value. Almost unbelievable. Each day was different, with a healthy balance of vegetables, proteins, and carbs (rice). Authentic, and served by a wonderful woman.

Kiyotaki Ryokan poskytuje pokoje v destinaci Hikone. Jen 1,7 km odtud se nachází Hrad Hikone a Svatyně Taga-taiša je 8 km daleko. I absolutely loved my stay at Hikone and Kiyotaki ryokan. The room I stayed in was spacious and smelled of tatami, the bath was newly and renovated and comfortable, there was a small table in room along with a kettle and a teapot set perfect for a cup of tea in the morning. This was both one of my favorite stays in Japan so far as well as one of the cheaper ones. The owner of this ryokan is super friendly well. He gave me tips on what to see as well as a map of local cafes and restaurants and other tourist attractions which he himself helped make. Overall the stay was super friendly and I hope to come back in the future and even book the dinner this time.
