Onyado Yuinosho, Shirakawago provides a sauna and free private parking, and is within 45 km of Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village and 46 km of Takayama Station. Clean and well thought out experience. Onsen is beautiful and comfortable. Rooms are large and luxurious. Breakfast are fancy af.

Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. We went as a group and we loved the ryokan. It was very spacious, everything was very clean, and it was conveniently located near the bus station, the train station, and the city center where most of the shopping takes place. The rooms were the most spacious we stayed in throughout Japan, and the staff were all very kind. I would definitely stay here again.

They offer Japanese Yukata and public bath. The room is comfortable. The location is close to the bus stop. The staff are very nice. Had a great time there.

Located in a 100 year-old Registered Tangible Cultural Property, Ryokan Hostel K's House is located in Shizuoka, a 7-minute walk from JR Ito Train Station. Spending time in this place was so amazing and comfortable. We rented the yukatas with my friend, so we felt like we were in some historical movie. The onsen was so private and cozy. It was one of the best places we've been in Japan. Also, there was a yummy place with the grilled meat near the hostel.

Nestled in the tranquil Hida Mountains, Miyama Ouan Kyoritsu Resort offers traditional accommodation featuring hot spring baths and nature views. Staff very very helpful from the moment you step in, privacy and quiet much appreciated, in-room osen awesome, outdoor private onsens even more awesome, breakfast was top-notch with view of lovely mountains! I wished I'd stayed longer!

Simple and high quality design with attention to detail everywhere across the house: materials, lights, blinds, equipment both indoor and outdoor. Very comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, quality toiletries, fantastic sauna, onsen, pool, phone chargers in every room etc. Relaxing place with Japanese flair. Fridge was prepared with soft drinks and beer.

Syukaen Yunohanazen is set in Atami, 27 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station, 29 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, and 43 km from Mount Daruma. The 4-star ryokan features sea views and is 1.2 km from Atami Sun... Excellent services, top-rated cuisine and panoramic sea views are the lasting impressions during our stay in Room 608 from Feb 11 - 12, 2025. Our special thanks goes to the very nice male staff who render his efficient services in table-setting for the many dishes of traditional Japanese cuisines, both for dinner and breakfast. He guided us the unique flavors of each type of food and the best way of eating with various sauces and condiments. He took the initiative to give us pamphlets about the sight-seeing spots nearby. We took his advice and did another hour of touring to learn more about Atami. It was a very hospitable and warming journey we had had with this hotel. Thank you for the very kind services of all the dedicated staff as well.

Located in Takayama and only 48 km from Takayama Station, Hakuunsou provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The owner was so nice and the onsen felt great! They made delicious food and the rooms were very nice.

1.6 km from Takayama Station, Iroriyado Hidaya is a recently renovated property situated in Takayama and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. We're very happy that we selected Hidaya as our first ever ryokan experience. The staff was lovely, instantly made us feel at home and helped us to get the most of our short visit to Takayama (recommendations, taxi and restaurants booking, yukata rental and much, much more). The Japanese style breakfast was delicious and varied from day to day. The place is very charming and well maintained. The small hot bath was a very nice addition that we've used multiple times. It's located quite far from any attractions so a car/taxi is your best bet but it can be reached on foot within 10min from a nearby bus stop and around 30min from the historic center. Highly recommended! Takayama was definitely a highlight of our trip and Hidaya was big part of it. Thank you for your hospitality!
