This was an amazing stay! Our family of 5 was visiting Hobbiton and we needed a place where we could all stay together comfortably. This house had everything we needed and lovely unexpected touches like chocolates and coffee! Definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Gerda and Twan are lovely and their place is amazing. Every single detail is perfect. Bed is super comfortable, the homemade bread for breakfast is yummy and enjoyed it in a very special company (two goats can’t remember their names 😅 ) A top place to stay!

Absolutely amazing. Cozy, warm, clean, spacious, luminous, lovely owner. One of the best place I've stayed. This was my base camp to explore Hobbiton, Waitomo caves and Roturoa. If I come back I would redo exactly the same!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Kaimai Sunset Bed & Breakfast, and it exceeded all our expectations. As a family of three, we felt incredibly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The charming guest house boasts stunning garden views and a cozy patio, providing a serene atmosphere that immediately put us at ease. Despite being a bit remote, the peaceful surroundings made us feel like we were miles away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Our accommodation was nothing short of exceptional. The air-conditioned guest house featured one bedroom, one bathroom, and all the amenities we could possibly need for a comfortable stay. From the plush bed linen and towels to the well-equipped kitchenette, every detail was thoughtfully curated to ensure our utmost comfort. The terrace with mountain views was the perfect spot to unwind and take in the breathtaking scenery. One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious breakfast prepared by our gracious hosts. We were delighted to find a variety of options to choose from, including fresh fruits that were a delightful touch. The hospitality extended to us made us feel truly special, and we couldn't have asked for a better start to our day. Overall, our time at Kaimai Sunset Bed & Breakfast was nothing short of magical. From the warm welcome to the impeccable accommodation and delicious breakfast, every aspect of our stay was simply perfect.     It was close to the Hobbiton attraction and our host was exceptional, he was really helpful and kind. Very clean facilities, and most importantly a warm place to come back to. We appreciated having the little kitchenette where our host left some bits and bobs for breakfast, which was really convenient.

    It has everything like home. We definitely stayed there if we had more days. All was new and clean. Loved everything. Cozy two electric blankets, comfortable sofa and huge streaming TV, and large kitchen, bath and bathroom. My brother told me this is the best place for last 9days.

    Such a perfect getaway. The facilities were excellent and luxurious. The bed so large and comfy, the kitchenette perfect, the coffee machine made me want to get one for myself and that shower was next world!

    The location is perfect if you’re going to Hobbiton. The place is really cute with everything you need (in the kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom) with a private and covered parking space. In addition, Diane is a truly nice person who helped us with all we needed. If we pass by Matamata again, we will not hesitate to sleep here again!
