The house is full of character and history, with elegant details throughout and a garden that’s clearly been lovingly cared for : peaceful, green, and perfect for a quiet walk along the river. Our host was warm and welcoming, striking just the right balance of hospitality and space. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at ease, as if we were guests in a friend’s grand family home. This is not your typical accommodation, it’s something special. If you're looking for a stay that offers charm, comfort, and a real sense of place, this is well worth it.

Katie’s Cottage is a very cozy and comfortable house in the countryside, equipped with everything you need for a few days’ holiday. You’ll find a kitchen with a good gas stove and all you need for real cooking. On a colder day, the solid fuel (wood) stove in the living room gives some very pleasant additional warmth. Brian is a very kind and helpful host, and he has prepared some bits and pieces of information that are not only really helpful to understand where you are and what to do, but are really personal in character. We liked to follow some of this advice, felt quite at home and would have liked to stay for some more days …

Had a great nights sleep and is within striking distance of many places of interest. Lough Gur is worth a visit.

Featuring a terrace with mountain views, this holiday home also includes a well-equipped kitchenette with a microwave, a fridge and a stovetop, as well as 1 bathroom with a shower and free toiletries. For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance. I liked the location, it was by a stream, the cabin was so cute and had everything you needed. We were lucky to have good weather on our stay and it was lovely sitting out on the patio and doing a BBQ and a fire at night. It was just really peaceful, private and quite. It was only a 20 minute drive to the town where we could get anything we needed. I would definitely come back.

I didn't end up staying at the Gamekeepers cabin but in the main lodge penthouse apartment, The lodge was absolutely amazing! Great comfortable bed and linens (key for me!), fresh bread and the best scones I've ever had waiting for me upon arrival. The house decor was designer level (Dali busts in the courtyard :)) and the apartment was very well equipped. I hope to bring my whole family and rent out the complete lodge! A definite highlight to my trip through Ireland!
