It was fantastic all around. Abas the host was very helpful, the flat is in a great location and the finishing in the flat was very high quality. I would highly recommend staying at Star House.

We loved the decor, the quiet situation and the breakfast served by Emmanuel who hosted perfectly. It felt like a real home, not an anonymous guest house. The beach was incredibly clean and despite the poverty very little was being hawked so it was truly peaceful. Shela is far preferable to Lamu.

Sai Shanti House ligt in Lamu, op 3 minuten lopen van Manda Beach, en is voorzien van een balkon, tuin, en gratis WiFi. Chris is an amazing host. The house is lovely, perfectly located and very reasonably priced. I was solo travelling and felt very safe at Sai Shanti!

Sai Shanti House is gelegen in Lamu, en biedt accommodatie met een balkon en gratis WiFi. Very warm and friendly reception. Beyond expectations! We were initially doubting to book due to a false comment of bathroom privacy issue, but we took chances and had a lovely stay, bathroom/shower is separated with locking mechanism from both sides. Host is super friendly, and greets/welcomes from Jetty, and even from Airport offers pickup service, which feels like home. We broke a glass accidently and they were cool about it too. Very accommodating, always at service to take us around as historical alleys there don't show up in Maps. We will return for sure.

We stayed at Ttunu House in January 2025, and it was simply incredible! The house is beautiful, lovingly restored, and tastefully furnished. There is truly not a single thing to complain about! The Ttunu House team—Cornelius, Stephen, and Jackson—did everything to make our stay perfect and unforgettable. Stephen cooks whatever guests desire, with only the cost of groceries charged, while the service itself is included. Upon request, we had the best tuna steaks of our lives, served with grilled vegetables and Kachumbari (a Kenyan tomato salad). For those looking for an extraordinary vacation far from tourist hotspots but without sacrificing luxury, Ttunu House is the perfect choice! We would love to come back.

Milimani Villa-Fully airconditioned Villa heeft een buitenzwembad, een tuin, een gedeelde lounge, en biedt accommodatie in Shela met gratis WiFi en uitzicht op de bergen. The house is wonderful, spacious, luxury and quiet. Bassam is a great host and the staff are excellent too. We had a great time exploring from here or just enjoying doing nothing much at all. It is a bit outside Shela, but not that far and a nice village walk.

Banana Shamba Estate ligt in Lamu, op 6 minuten lopen van Manda Beach en 300 meter van Mnarani House. De accommodatie biedt gratis WiFi, een tuin met een barbecue en uitzicht op de bergen. Appartement was werkelijk voorzien van alles, keukengerei enz. Omdat de douche geen druppel warm water gaf kregen we een kamer in het Banana house inclusief een ontbijt

Umma House ligt op 1 minuten lopen van 18th Century Swahili House Museum en 400 meter van Lamu Museum, en heeft gratis WiFi en een terras. Deze villa heeft een privézwembad. Thanks to the housekeeper Fadir our stay was 10. We spent 3 nights in the house with all the comforts and the incredible kindness and closeness of Fadir. He gave us many recommendations like the guide Abu who show us around very professionally and close, everything was in detail. We also thank the cook Barak who came to make us breakfast and dinner, it was incredible! If we ever come back to Lamu we will come back to Umma. Asante sana!

Beytsalaam Apartments is gelegen in Lamu, op 1 minuten lopen van 18th Century Swahili House Museum en biedt accommodatie met airconditioning, gratis WiFi, en toegang tot een terras. The air conditioning in the bedroom was fantastic. It was a huge bedroom with closet space, lots of room to put your stuff, and a large ensuite bathroom. The location was great, right on the waterfront, close to water taxis, etc. The staff were so friendly and were always there if you needed them. After check out, they called to inform us we left a few things in the room, we left them on purpose, but it was nice to get a follow-up call.
