At the apartment complex, units are fitted with bed linen and towels. Beautiful house with local architectural details like wooden windows and wooden terrace fencing. The village of Batigama is also very authentic - there are almost no large or even medium-sized hotels, just small houses where local people live and also other small guesthouses. At the same time the guesthouse is very near to the main road that connects all the resorts on the southern coast. The best beaches in the area are Turtle beach in 5 minutes walk (good for relaxation and turtle watching) and Hiriketiya beach which is 3 km away and has bigger waves and surf lifestyle vibe. The family who owns the house is very nice. They make delicious breakfasts and also can help with useful information, such as public transport schedule or facilities in the village. The owners also have a dog that is super cute and friendly!

The host is extremely kind and accommodating. Awesome attention! It has really great amenities and a great location. It also has a beautiful, green outdoors area, and the kitchen is a huge bonus. The room was large and comfortable and perfect for working from. I really enjoyed my stay and would 100% recommend.

Situated in Hiriketiya, 600 metres from Hiriketiya Beach, House On The Bend features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. With a restaurant, the 2-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen, room service and currency exchange for guests. We loved staying here. This small hotel is well built and nicely furnished, very comfortable, extremely clean and well maintained, and a 5 minute walk to Hiri beach. The hotel manager and his staff are great to be with; friendly, kind, and helpful. Our breakfasts were generous, and our room was large with quality towels and bedding. The bonus was a kitchen (one on each floor) for us to make coffee early in the morning.

Situated in Mirissa, within 800 metres of Mirissa Beach and 35 km of Galle International Cricket Stadium, Ruwan Jungle Homestay features accommodation with a private beach area and free WiFi as well as free private parking for guests who drive. Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. The holiday home offers garden views, a sun terrace and a 24-hour front desk. Home from home! Ruwan and his family couldn’t have made us feel more welcome to their lovely Homestay. Nothing was too much trouble. The room had a very comfortable bed and modern bathroom. The shower was powerful and in the heat a welcome relief. Our room was on the small side but this wasn’t a problem as the outside space had a hammock, table and chairs. Breakfast was served daily by Ruwan and his lovely daughter. It was fresh and plentiful and always delivered with a big smile. The air conditioning in the room wasn’t great and took some getting used to. Ruwan did kindly offer to change our room but we declined as we didn’t want to inconvenience him with another room to clean. However it is only fair to share this information. We stayed 4 Nights with Ruwan and his family and everyday he checked on our welfare, if we needed anything or a ride anywhere. He organised a wonderful Whale watching trip for us, one we would recommend, as a must when in this area. Ruwan kindly cooked us a delicious Sri Lanka. Fish supper despite his wife only day’s earlier giving birth to their son. On New Years Day the family invited us for breakfast in their home. The food was plentiful, delicious and a reflection of this family’s kindness and willingness to share their hospitality with us. I urge Anyone in this area to visit Ruwan and his family if wanting an authentic experience. Ruwan, thank you , we will be back. You are in our hearts forever. Xox

Lovely homestay run by a very humble family in Hiriketiya. They made sure that we feel welcomed, comfortable and helped us fully for each and everything from the start of the trip. We had a small kid with us and felt absolutely at home with the family. Lovely place and exceptional experience at Sand Dollar house :) would highly recommend to friends and family !
