Nestled amongst peaceful native bushland, Kaka Retreat Motel, Stewart Island offers spacious modern suites with kitchenette, flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. We really enjoyed our stay there. We would especially like to mention Vicky who hosted us. We encountered a certain difficulty and she went out of her way to help. We felt accompanied by a personal and warm attitude. Thank you Vicky.

The hosts were fantastic couldn’t do enough to help, the use of the courtesy car was a great touch helped to get around. The unit was well thought out ideal for all your needs for a stay on the island. The island is amazing, I highly recommend the RealNZ bus tour and the RealNZ Kiwi night tour. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We even saw a kiwi in the wild, big highlight of the trip. Thanks to Lionel and his wife of a great stay.
