Comfortable and luxurious. Spacious rooms and best part were the onsens and sauna. They have a social hour concept from 9-11pm where there’s free drinks and refreshments for all guests every night. Loved it.

We had a great stay at Shoraiso for our honeymoon in December. Service is unparalleled and the staff are doing above and beyond to make us feel like home without being intrusive. We love the elephant decor of the room and the beautifully landscaped garden, and the private onsen is definitely the highlight of our trip. Breakfast and dinner are included and the food is just exceptional (very tasty with fresh local ingredient and creative presentation). The location is quite convenient - 45min train from Nagano to Yudanaka station and hotel is just a few min drive away (the hotel can arrange pick up). Monkey park is quite close (around 15min taxi away). Overall we couldn’t recommend this hotel more!

I loved the place, it has its rustic theme which is typical of an old ryokan/hotel in Japan. Very helpful staff

What an incredible time we had at this lovely gem of a place. We had the dinner and breakfast and were totally amazed by the quality of the food. When we walked into the dinner room I was in awe of the presentation of every dish and it was so delicious. My sister is a pescatarian and the hotel was able to accommodate her by removing any meat from the meals and even adding some vegetable dishes she could eat. The 3 baths at this Ryokan were lovely especially the outdoor bath (it snowed when we were out there and it was truly magical). We loved wearing the yukata, to dinner, around the hotel, and around the town. We received the key that unlocked the 9 baths in town and enjoyed around 4-5 but we really liked the baths in our hotel the best. The location is perfect for visiting the Snow monkeys - the bus stop is a 3 min walk away. We actually missed a bus to return from the snow monkeys so ended up walking back which was only 20 minutes downhill. The staff were all friendly and kind and went over and above to make our stay perfect. The room was so cosy and warm with extra blankets for us on the futons. The futons were so comfortable. The building was filled with history and we loved it. Everything about our stay was perfect. We highly recommend this hotel.
