This is my favourite romantic getaway in Durban. It's located very close to the Umhlanga city centre and incredible beachfront. The rooms are luxurious, the spa is well-appointed and we always wish our stay could have been a little bit longer.

We stayed in 3 separate locations in Durban with a similar cost over a two week period and this was our favourite. It was very clean (unlike the other 2 locations, we didn't see a single cockroach!!), the property had secure off road parking with a gate that was operated by staff, and crockery provided for breakfast. There was easy access by car to central Durban and a short walk on foot to the Botanic Gardens. The staff were helpful in advising us where/where not to walk and at what times it was safe to walk. Our room had a nice view of Durban and the sea in the distance. We will definately consider staying at this hotel again.

The Breakers is at the quieter end of Umhlanga which I prefer. It is a great location overlooking the nature reserve and has many pools (one heated) and lots of space to relax in the gardens. Lots of activities and a great restaurant. Staff are very quick to help with any issue.
