This is THE best place in Yufuin. It was really easy to check in. Yes it's a bit further away from the city centre which makes it a bit more difficult to get to if you don't have a car (you can walk it or take a taxi up there) but it has the most epic view of the mountain. There are two onsens that everyone at the hotel can use, but they are effectively private as once you are in them you lock the door and you can have them to yourselves. The water is fantastic. Refreshing and makes you feel very relaxed. I would stay here at the drop of a hat again. Also make sure you walk up to Oogosha shrine (only 5 mins away) where you can get the experience of visiting a HUGE cedar tree temple and a bamboo forest that is 10x better than Arashiyama.

We had a fabulous time at the hotel soaking in the private onsen. The room was huge and so comfortable we loved spending time there. The hotel itself is like a museum of modern art beautifully designed. Best having a car if staying here as it isn't in the city centre or near a conbini.

Ryokan Fukinoya se nachází v destinaci Jufu a nabízí wellness centrum, bezplatné Wi-Fi ve všech prostorách a neplacené soukromé parkoviště pro hosty, kteří přijedou autem. Ryokan Fukinoya is an exceptionally wonderful place to stay. The staff members were very gracious, the meals were amazing, and the accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. We loved our private onsen. We can't rave enough about Ryokan Fukinoya, definitely a highlight of our trip!

Kannawaen is an entirely non-smoking accommodation that features a garden, terrace and bar in Beppu. 100 metres from Hells of Beppu, the property is also 500 metres away from Jigokumushikobo Kannawa. Our stay at Kannawaen was such a uniqe experience. We booked the room "Take", and it was so worth it having our own pool and other baths. Booked it with dinner and breakfast, and the dinner was one of the best we had on our trip to Japan. It was worth the splurge! Would come back again. We also got a present of two bottles of fine wine for free when we checked out. The hotel is also right beside the Beppu Hells.

We booked the premium room with tatami area. Our room was really spacious and clean. I really liked how there was a private garden in our room—really peaceful and lovely. When we entered the room, we were met with the living room, with a view of the garden where you can spend time on the veranda! There’s also a mini kitchen with cutleries! The dressing room, restroom, bathroom, and the best of them all the PRIVATE ONSEN were separated. (All of the rooms were really big!) There were two bedrooms—one in the tatami room where they laid out the futon for us. I really enjoyed the kaiseki course at their restaurant Matsuhide—each course was carefully crafted and use of local ingredients. And their breakfast was superb! They drove us to the Seikai building—the breakfast buffet had a large variety of Japanese dishes. It was really good too. Sadly, we only booked for a night, so we didn’t get to enjoy their various facilities as much as we’d like (there were the Gahama tower and onsen). Another thing I’d like to mention was the tea ceremony building! Read the history posted in front and was amazed by the historical significance of it!

SEKIYA RESORT Terrace Midoubaru is located a 15-minute drive from JR Beppu Station and boasts guestrooms with a semi open-air bath. Guests can soak in the hot spring bath. It was beautiful, had a great overlook of the city. Nice, relaxing onsen in our own private bathroom, perfect few days to relax after 2 weeks of running around Japan.

Boasting luxurious guest rooms with open-air hot spring bath overlooking the ocean, AMANE resort SEIKAI is a 7-minute walk from JR Beppu Daigaku Station. The staff is very helpful when I hurt. The hotel has the stunning view. Drinks in the Bar are also very nice. Definitely will come back.
