I gathered my family and friends in this house to celebrate my birthday, and we loved every single moment we spent there. The house itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and incredibly welcoming. Our host was wonderful - communication was always easy and quick, and he truly made our comfort his top priority, which felt very heartwarming. And I have to mention the sweetest dog who stayed in the house with us - such a tender, playful creature, always ready for cuddles (and for snacking on anything we forgot to put in the fridge, but she was so adorable we couldn’t even be mad!). We left with the warmest memories and truly hope to come back one day.

Location, room, service - all was just excellent and make you feel special. Design of every room makes you feel at home - comfortable and pleasant. The views from windows were fantastic. Special thanks to Marko at the reception and in fact all staff was professional and friendly.

Valverde Sintra Palácio de Seteais - The Leading Hotels of the World is an elegant 5-star hotel set in the mountainside of Sintra with privileged views of the Moorish Castle and Pena Palace. Exceptional staff, beautiful facility and location. Restaurant was also terrific.

Liked the location, very private and a wonderful pool. The house is not new. There are minor things like a dripping tap and slow draining bath but Susana, the owner, was very responsive and arranged a plumber to visit to address things. There is wildlife in the garden, we saw a hedgehog one night and woodpeckers every morning with buzzards passing over, altogether very relaxing. We were given recommendations for where to eat and which beaches were good locally. Azenhos do Mar restaurant - you need to book - great food, we went twice. Macas and Praia a Grande beaches were good. Sintra we visiting a few times, one evening up there we ate at Cafe Paris, not cheap but great food, wine and service. Good supermarkets, in Colares and at the Hitchhikers hostel, very close to the house. We also tried the co-op a bit further away - delicious blueberries from there. If you want a big supermarket the Continente Modelo in Lourel, just North of Sintra, is certainly worth a visit.
