Steinenschanze Charming City & Garden Hotel is less than 5 minutes' walk from Basel's city centre and the university, close to historical buildings and the old town. Very friendly staff on arrival. We were offered a welcome drink and snacks upon arrival which was a lovely touch. Great location and transport links.

The Hotel Alexander is located right at the Messe Basel fairgrounds and the Congress Centre, a 7-minute ride from the centre of Basel. The tram stop is right outside. Free Wi-Fi is available. Located in the center of Basel, with very clean and modern rooms, a nice staf, an underground garage and a rich breakfast is the best location to spend few days in Basel if you want a real value of money. If I will return in Basel I will definitely choose Alexander hotel again.
