We were treated like family at on the rocks, wawan and his team were so helpful and friendly that we instantly felt at home. I cannot recommend staying here enough. We did multiple treks with Wong and he was wonderful, so much information to share but also never even felt like he was a guide. Treks can be suited for your fitness level but you are almost guaranteed to see orangutans no matter where you go. The restaurant was also delicious.

The stay at EcoTravel cottages was an amazing experience. From the start of our communications with the cottages until the final goodbyes the staff went above and beyond to make our trip enjoyable and comfortable. The room was spacious, neat and clean with all the amenities. The bed was comfortable and came with amazing views of the river. Breakfast was more a generous serving of fresh fruits and catered to everyone's wants and needs. They even stay with you at breakfast to ensure the monkey's don't partake at the breakfast or harass you while enjoying your meal. They staff provided their own tours of the local jungle which was such an amazing experience. They were knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna and ensured we were well looked after for the duration of the 7 hour hike. We saw 7 orangutangs on our journey and many other species of wildlife. They ensure that the hike is done ethically and that their is no disturbance to the local wildlife while on the journey, I would recommend if you can to take their advice on board about wearing long pants and take insect repellent. We done the hike in sneakers which is doable but can become very slippery at times so if possible i would recommend shoes with grip or shoes suited to hiking. We can't express our gratitude to the staff who truly made our trip an amazing and memorable experience.
