The rooms were comfortable, and the very quiet location as well as the height allowed us to sleep comfortably with the windows open. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And we especially loved the evening meals which were delicious!

The staff, the accommodations, the location, the food, the special events (!) were all the best we experienced in Japan

Located in 15-minute bus ride from JR Takayama Station, Guest House & Cafe SOY is surrounded by lush greenery. Free WIFi is provided and free private parking is available on site. The property also provides free pick-up service from JR Takayama Station. Free shuttle bus service is available when check-in, check-out, after dinner. Was the best japanese experience that we have on our trip. The house is very traditional and beatiful, they have also a nice garden. And the best thing was Tai and his family that take care of us, they were very kind, prepared the best japanese breakfast and help us with everything.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. The property offers free WiFi access in rooms and in public areas including the shared TV lounge and the terrace. Auberge Hidanomori is one of the gems of Takayama. It is a fantastic property, with beautiful rooms and 2 private onsens. Very friendly/helpful staff, and the meals were some of the best we had in Japan. Fantastic pairings!

A 3-minute drive from JR Gero Train Station, Izumi-so offers Japanese-style rooms, an indoor and an open-air natural hot spring bath and Japanese cuisine. The hotel houses a souvenir shop and drinks vending machines. Free parking is available, and a free pick-up can be requested from the station. What a pleasant stay it was! The staff was super nice and took the time to talk with me. The food was amazing (I'll think a long time about the Hida beef) and fortunately I was the only female customer at the time so I had both the interior and exterior onsen for myself (which saved me a lot of embarrassment as I was a first timer). I needed a break and breath of fresh air during my trip and Izumi-so made me feel right at home!

Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout. Everything. The room is very big, futon beds are comfortable, the staff very nice, good Japanese breakfast, excellent location. Enjoyed the Japanese bath as well.
