Amazing hotel giving you a classic ryokan experience with a modern twist. Our room was spacious with stunning views. The indoor onsen was beautiful, looking out into the forest and the open-air onsen was serene and private, with a bank of wild lilies that made it smell wonderful. Staff were incredibly sweet and helpful. We especially enjoyed sitting in the shared lounge, choosing which of their wide selection of vinyls to listen to.

Offering free WiFi throughout the property, the ryokan is soundproof and has a hot spring bath. The cleanest property we have ever stayed at in Japan. The rooms were very comfortable and the onsen was very nice to use. Location was great - close to bus stops and a train station, easy to get to Hakone landmarks. The owner was so accomodating and gave us many tips and advice for our stay in Hakone.

Attractions in the area include Hakone Lalique Museum, 300 metres away, or Venetian Glass Museum, located 800 metres from the property. If you want a genuine Japanese experience this is the place. The Onsen is amazing and your room is a fairly authentic Japanese room with a dining area and floor beds. The beds are good but you are sleeping on the floor so don't expect a nice mattress. We got food in from the local convenience store and ate in the dining area. The breakfast is a Japanese breakfast and the staff will explain what it is and how to eat it. A lot of fish (so don't expect cereal and bacon butty). Worth a night's stay.

The room with the private onsen were perfect. Beautiful location. The food tasted great. So much great things about this property. I was very tempted to drop all plans and stay longer.

Guests can reserve the rooftop bath at an additional fee. On-site parking is available for free. The mama-chan greeted us warmly when we arrived, she doesn't speak any English but some of the employees do. The room was generous and traditional, and the onsens were amazing the water felt great and soothed all our aches. HOT TIP . Ask to use the couples onsen on the roof for an additional 2000 yen to bathe under the stars
