Most perfect location you could imagine!!! It is such a beautiful area full of japanese style buildings and the "vibes" are truly amazing! Also lots of great street foods, temple nearby and still close enough to the Station. Staff was super kind and we got a little sweet treat every day which was very tasty.
The onsen was great too and our room was also perfect! It was clean, enough room and felt very authentic to us. Would definitely stay here again!

Shiroganeya is a traditional Japanese minshuku. Our host Maki-san was truly exceptional. She made sure our family of 6 were well-fed, well-rested, and well-prepared for our little hike to the main Togakushi shrine, which is a 7-min drive away. The dinner prepared for us was superb as well - at least 7-courses! I liked that the house itself has a lot of history. Dinner is served with precious chinaware that are more than a century-old, but still in very good shape and colour. There is adequate heating throughout the house, especially important for a cold winter stay. Maki-san also had a stash of toy cars and trains that kept our boy occupied. There’s just so much to rave about this place. Hopefully we’ll be back for a second visit!

Other than that the location of the guesthouse provides great access to different ski resorts in Hakuba valley. After a day of skiing there’s no better way to relax than in the warm baths waiting for you at the guesthouse. Also, do not forget to try Chikako’s hotpot: 10 out of 10! We definitely recommend and hope to come back. Thanks for having us, Chikako & Koji san 🙏 Br, Jasper & Rosine

Truly one of the highlights of our time in Japan. The building, rooms, and onsen are incredible and the hospitality can't be beat. We were caught in a rainstorm before our scheduled pickup and the owners so kindly dried our sopping wet clothes and shoes. After that, we warmed up in the onsen which left our skin feeling so smooth and headed to a delicious and expansive dinner. We finished the night falling asleep to the roaring sound of the waterfall due to the heavy rains. We'll definitely be back.

Excellent budget hotel with options for rooms / single / capsule style accomodation right in center of city and next to station.
Close to the train station, good budget hotel in a town that is expensive for accommodation and food.
Good location and good price/quality
Good location, good price to value, clean, comfortable living room and bedroom, TV with netflix, wifi is good.
The offered breakfast for Y1,000 was fantastic. Filling and a range of Japanese breakfast offerings. Location was good, with a bus stop right on the corner of the hotel location. Bus could take us into the city centre or up to the snow lifts but stops at 5pm, keep that in mind. Host was fantastic, always friendly and helpful service.
location is great, clean facilities, good price/performance ratio, easy to reach host
Small functional room, for good price. Great location, 2 minute walk to train station. Great breakfast.
What a great surprise. Excellent location, few minutes walk from both bus n train station. We could store all our luggage before check in with ease n come back later. Bedrooms were surprisingly big for a Japanese budget hotel. Enough space even for our snowboard bags. Note that im talking about Japanese standards. Double bed was small but enough for me n my husband ( we are not super big n tall). Everything worked fine and they also have free bikes for rental which is very convenient.
It's a hotel for the budget-conscious, so expectations to be adjusted accordingly. Helpful staff who promptly attended to some AC troubles. It's clean, though very dated. Quite comfortable stay though at a very good price. Good location to Matsumoto Castle and Nawate-dori.
