The host's good intentions, attention to detail, plus efforts to accommodate and comfort guests were exceptional, i.e. providing maps, bikes and detailed instructions for getting around and shopping. Also, Osa is near a beautiful beach, a walk or bike ride away where visitors can swim and relax. A pleasant restaurant with good prices is nearby the beach. A chocolate factory is also a bike ride away. The host led us to a unique treehouse in a jungle setting rife with birds and monkeys. Internet access, too.

The location and setting was beautiful with nature right on your doorstep. You could see the ocean and hear the waves on the beach. Fresh fruit was picked from the garden and given to us by the hosts.

It’s got a great driveway, spacious house with two levels, great mosquito netting that goes around the bed, 3 bathrooms, lovely pets including a friendly parrot 🦜 and the outside patio is well kept and the pool stylish (and illuminated in the evenings!). We stayed for 6 nights with Geraldo and his family and they were very welcoming and even gave us fresh bananas and coconut waters daily. His wife did our washing and folded it really neatly. We were never bored as there is so much to do on the Osa Peninsula and we really missed the place and all the people and animals living there when we left. We saw squirrel monkeys from the balcony in the morning and saw macaws fly over the house regularly.

Beautiful quiet and peaceful location with great balcony for watching the wildlife. Saw so many scarlet macaws, parrots and even a kingfisher from the balcony! Very well equipped kitchen and good shower. A/C worked well and comfy bed. Garden area was lovely and even some bikes to use. Friendly host who gave us some fantastic recommendations!

Secluded yet safe in the jungle, this perfectly appointed house has all the amenities- comfortable beds, mosquito nets, great lounging areas and then.. the best of all.. a gorgeous pool where we saw monkeys playing overhead, not to mention the macaws and toucans. From the river side lookout deck we could watch the gold miners on their morning trek up the river searching for treasure. The grounds are beautiful with pineapple, avocado, lime and banana trees. Val and Ron are amazing hosts who made sure the Yeti cooler had blocks of ice to keep our food cold. Coming from the city it was incredible to realize how easy it is to live off the grid. The solar panels provided enough power to charge our phones and have light in the evening. We had amazing adventures walking to the nearby waterfall, walking up the river and exploring the Bolita trails. There are a couple of very cute and harmless bats in the guest bedroom who left each evening before we went to bed, returning home in the morning. The windows have no screens or glass so you really feel you are living in the jungle but there was a surprising lack of biting insects. This really is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the jungle- the best high end “glamping” I have ever experienced.
