Riverside cultural district was a bit dissapointing, nice enough but nothing to do apart from walk through it, we did some of it but better off walking up the top along Quay Street to take in the lovely old buildings. Mt Archer skywalk was awesome, such a lovely view back over Rockhampton from up there. We also did the Capricorn Caves, it's a must see when in the area that's for sure! Yeppoon and the Keppel Coast was beautiful but we needed more time spent over there..next visit hey!

Our trip was a two and half day to Cairns which then didn't leave us any touring time.
When it came to food my only advice, stay away from servo's not an option we will recommend.
When searching good food/diners in Rockhampton remember to do your research because we ended buying local take-away and eating back in our motel room, VERY SAD & NOT SATISFYING.
I used Cosmopolitan as a way stop on my way to a destination further North and for a stop after a long day of road travel, I found this establishment great for my needs. Right next door was a fuel station, together with a Restaurant across the road from the fuel station. The location was suitable as it was on the edge of Rockhampton and was accessible travelling both to and from my intended destination. Rooms were clean and spacious for the single traveller.
My friend and I (two females) stopped through on our way to Airlie beach. The hotel manager was absolutely amazing and made sure that we felt extremely safe and comfortable. It can be intimidating travelling as a woman at times and it was very comforting to know that we had someone looking out for us. He went out of his way to make sure he was easily contactable and was an absolute angel. I would 10/10 recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rockhampton.
My wife and I stayed here as an overnight stop. It is in the perfect location for us. On the highway (although we didn't hear any traffic noise), and close to many restaurants, pubs and shops, without being in the center of Rockhampton. The fellow at reception was very pleasant and helpful. The food at the hotel next door was great and very reasonably priced. We will for sure be staying again when travelling from Bundy to Airlie Beach.
Friendly, honest & efficient reception staff. We left early to travel, but unfortunately i left my bag in the room so the lovely receptionist retrieved it from the room when I called & immediately put it safely in reception for my return.
The hotel has spacious rooms & is a great location just at the northern entrance to Rockhampton.
The room was spacious, and a decent size bathroom. Nice little table and chairs on the verandah. Special mention regarding Jacob in the bar/bistro. He was exceptional, and a credit to the place. It is also in a very peaceful part of town, on the north side of Rockhampton, with supermarket and a hotel very close.
Great size room had everything you need ,clean and comfy beds.
Very quiet and the free breakfast is a great bonus
Housekeeping and reception staff are friendly and helpful.
Close to Aldi and the Rockhampton zoo and not far from major shopping centre and CBD.
Value for money would definitely recommend.
Pet friendly which was the main reason I booked as it was the halfway point for my move up north. Parking available. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were good quality. Great tea and coffee facilities. My booking included breakfast which I got to pick and choose from the main reception.
The Criterion Hotel was an absolute delight to stay in. From the gorgeous exterior facade to the grand internal staircase, it was exactly what we were looking for. The staff were very accomodating and friendly. The location on the river with the fabulous walkways couldn't have been better.
Having travelled to Rockhampton, before and having stayed at this establishment the experience was the very same reason that I return. I always book the disabled room for my partner, who unfortunately is in a wheelchair, every expectation is met.
Great old fashioned accommodation. Very quirky. Close to railway & an easy walk into Rockhampton CBD. Extremely comfortable beds. It is opposite the iconic Great Western Hotel where you can get great meals.
Easy access to motel in and out, bottle shop next door, Sun Palms Hotel Restaurant around the corner, strongly recommended - great food, Aldi's across the road. all I need.
It had everything I wanted and was close to Woolworths and a petrol station. It was also on the Cairns side of Rockhampton so I could get a quick getaway next day.
