Check in was straight forward. I had asked for an early breakfast, and after a little confusion, this was sorted out and a packed lunch was prepared for me to collect.
My room was very pleasant, exceptionally clean and comfortable. Everything that I needed in the en suite was there and everything worked correctly.

It was our first visit to Ambleside and we weren’t disappointed. We had a meal at Luigi’s which was amazing. The staff were very friendly and I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I am a fussy eater.
The weather was glorious so we had a few drinks in the beer garden at the Royal Oak pub.
Ambleside was about a 15minute walk from our accommodation, Windermere Rooms at the Wateredge Inn.

Great location for exploring central Lake District. Lots of interesting shops, bars - even Michelin starred restaurant which was stunning. Lake shore and beaches are lovely - east to hire SUP, canoes, kayak,motor boats.

We stayed across the lake from Ambleside and it was much quieter and prettier.
Be prepared to pay for parking and toilet access in all public areas in the Lake District and only a credit card is acceptable for payment.

There is a waterfall 20 minutes walk from the town centre.

The area itself is amazing, loads of pubs, bars and restaurants around all offering various meals, I would book in advance for most of them to avoid disappointment.

Exceptional stay here!! We booked in for a trip to the lakes to walk and have some down time in Ambleside, you can walk into the middle of the town in 5 minutes.
Very clean room, with a lovely bath and plenty of space for our bags. Big TV for watching in bed after a days wandering. Bed was super comfortable, plenty of space and very clean.
Breakfast had a brilliant selection and was really tasty. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
Looking forward to coming back again in the near future!
Staff were lovely very helpfull, great location, food was excellent, buffet breakfast which was great and the evening meals were great too... especially the "Gowan Curry" will definitely go back but book one of the deluxe rooms as we had a family room (only one left) with a double bed and bunk beds which was great if you had kid's. bed was comfortable but small.dog friendly hotel which is good. Staff were lovely to our dog.would highly recommended this hotel
Location perfect and central. Car parking permit given on check in and a real money saver for loads of locations. Staff super friendly and amazing, service with a smile and a real personal touch. Breakfast was incredible and set you up for the day, please get the mushrooms! Dry/boot room perfect for the wet days. Dog friendly in room, hotel and breakfast restaurant. Such a lovely hotel with good views onto the lake. Outside tables to have a relaxing drink and some nice food. The staff were efficient and eager to help. The hotel was dog friendly and welcomed the dog with food bowls, dog bed, blanket and natural treats. The room was a good size and really nice with a beautiful ensuite.

The owners are friendly and always ready to help. The rooms have everything you need. Great value and a very central position for Ambleside's attractions.
This hotel is in an excellent location right in the heart of Ambleside, near to everything you need. The staff were friendly, the food in the bar was very nice. Breakfast was really good, could highly recommend the porridge :-)

Everything was how it should be - perfect location for exploring The Lake district and only 100 yards from centre of Ambleside and a short walk to lake Windermere. - superb. The facilities and accommodation are great.
