The Plough far exceeded our expectations. We were expecting a country pub and got a modern well run pub/restaurant with very friendly and helpful staff, extremely good, tasty food and a well furnished modern residential block housing the rooms which were spacious and had a lovely big bed. The food is freshly cooked, including the breakfast, and you can tell it is. We will definitely be coming back and adjusting our travel arrangements to stay a few more nights.

It was just a lovely stay , you need a car to travel about and explore beautiful towns near to congleton . I enjoyed holmes chapel which wasn’t far. The food in the Swettenham arms was very nice . Also the. Red lion too if you want basic meals. I’m sure there are lovely walks but didn’t get that far as it was much too cold went I went . You need to be a countryside fan to enjoy the loft and surrounding areas

We stayed overnight for a wedding.
We stayed overnight for a wedding. I personally found the bed too hard and the room was old fashioned and shabby. The breakfast was very good but I object to having to order it the night before as on the day I wasn't very hungry so had to cancel that order.

A very nice place to be, with good facilities close to the Hotel where we were staying.
The breakfast in the hotel was good with a large selection of various items.
We may well return to this hotel as both the setting and the staff were excellent.

Never thought to visit the area, but I am glad that I did, its life at a slower pace and a chance to get back to nature, each village has its own unique character and charm. Every pub seemed to serve really great food and people actually smiled and were pleasant and chatty.
Some of the churches are good examples of what seems to be a slowly disappearing england, plenty of history and the locals enjoy telling their areas claim to fame.

In truth I did not see much of Congleton as a town as I was there for a walking trip but it is equipped with bus and train links to local and national locations. It is an extremely scenic area surrounded by hill, canals, rivers and small villages with great places to eat and drink.
Excellent accommodation and suited us perfectly as we were attending a wedding and our other friends were able to stay in the cottage next door, making taxi's/travel to the wedding really easy! The cottage is kitted out with everything you need in terms of crockery, cups, glasses, bedding and towels - and the patio area with folding doors was amazing to have.. making the space seem a lot bigger.
Reubens was a stopover on a long trp to Scotland. It was a great choice which we will definitely consider doing again. It was a shame we didn't have time to look around pretty looking Congleton.
Smart modern rooms. Friendly staff. Restrant is contemporary and good value for money. Nina's communication beforehand was excellent; thorough and very responsive.
We chose the lodges as it was really close to the wedding venue we were visiting and only 10 minutes to Congleton with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars.
The lodge was lovely and had everything we needed. The bedrooms were large and comfortable and having an ensuite was definitely a bonus.
It was quiet on the site as there are only a few lodges.
Firstly - it was a great stay, with just what I needed after a week of city hotels: peaceful, comfortable, own kitchen. There is a great shower, excellent hosting, nice tv (although I couldn’t log into my Netflix) and a very nice atmosphere to stay in.
A nice alternative to my usual UK stay in Manchester centre.
Great breakfasts, dinners and comfortable room -no complaints here. I stay away a lot for work and try and find small hotels/pubs with room (rather than chains) mainly for the personal touch and for the atmosphere. Happily sat in the bar area after dinner, reading my book and enjoying a local beer!
Really good location in Congleton. The train station and the Town Centre are very close within walking distance. Fish and chip shop and a couple of pubs nearby. The cottage itself had 2 good sized bedrooms with a compact kitchen and two small reception rooms.
The location of the hotel was perfect for our needs to meet family locally. The staff were all super friendly and it has a nice welcoming atmosphere. They had thought of nice little details, that I thought showed consideration and care for their guests.
We thought the property was very homely and exceptionally clean. The dedicated parking spot was very welcome and close by.We would certainly recommend the property and its good location for exploring Congleton.
The property, from grounds to room was magnificent. Very well maintained and the staff were all incredibly welcoming. I will definitely be back for another weekend stay next time I’m in the area.
Everything about the property was exceptional, minutes from both town centre and beautiful Astbury Mere park. Everything you could need for a comfortable stay.
